Yes, I have gained almost 20 pounds since we got married. I buy the groceries, help pay bills, cook dinner, plan events, wash the dogs, clean the house, etc! etc! etc! etc!

If you actually care, ask them to go do something with you but, don't EVER tell them they NEED to go "lose weight".

There's something to understanding that a person's figure, health, or haircolor will change thoughout the course of a lifetime. Whether that be in the loose or gain spectrum, a spouse or significant other needs to walk into the lifetime committment with that respect. A gentle nudge is necessary if health is a factor of the weight gain (due to flat out laziness), but if the issue is due to health factor such as diabetes or thyroid condition, then there's no room for venting immature words upon that person - is he or she not still the person inside?
It's always good to step back and decide if your (generalization, here...) motivations for critique are selfishly voiced or if they're productive. If a person is willing to help, then by all means, tell it like it is. If a person is not willing to help, then shut the fuck up about something so superficial as weight or wrinkles, or stretchmarks.
