If you can't take the rain, get out of Portland Oregon

Blues Festival in Portland, OregonThere is a curious phenom of normally curteous and safe drivers turning into passive-aggressive morons that either drive way too slow or at speeds unsafe even in dry weather.

Seriously, WTF? Here in Portland there is a lot of rain. I suspect the bulk of these drivers are recent transplants unused to the days and days and days of wet stuff that pours on the Willamette Valley. (Guess what, noobies? It's that wet stuff that keeps our foliage so green. GET USED TO IT.) So please remember that, while caution is expected while driving in the rain, defensive driving at low or high speeds is dangerous no matter the weather!

Thank you, and Keep Portland Weird.

I TOTALLY agree... I'm in Central Oregon and we get all the people during the winter who have never driven in snow before.

I guess people need to realize that it's not about driven fast, or slow... but driving aware.

AMEN!!!  We don't know how to drive in rain here in Texas.  I usually bum rides from friends whilst in their town, walk, or take a darn cab.  Tis safer that way.

Drivin in mud however, is a different story~~~ I'll bet y'all know a thing or two about that~

Tell 'em all to hop on MAX & then they won't have to worry about tryin' to drive in the rain! I moved to Portland in 2000 & stayed for 4 years. I quit driving after I moved up there because I just didn't really need to anymore. Now that I'm back in Austin I miss that public transit system in Portland SO much. Ours has MUCH to be desired (but at least we're FINALLY getting light rail!).

Biotch, don't I know it!

As a certain someone's honorary chauffeur, I'm of the professional opinion that the world needs me moonlighting as a gene-pool lifeguard, if only to thin the commuting herd of asshats.

Say, wanna team up and fill out the application together, then?
