no class
as a child, I remember Hollywood, and the entertainment business in a whole in a certain light. At the time I did not know the correct term for how well the women carried themselves, how most everyone paid attention to every detail, and as well the attention and publicity they received. Granted it was all a bit glossed over, but that's what we love movies and other entertainment for. The visual candy, the break from reality, etc. Even the occasional prankster who wore inappropriate shoes or did a break dance on the red carpet still retained their class and refrained from anything that might be just overtly vulgar.
Hollywood glamour and class is all but gone. People's thirst for the innermost details of star's lives have plunged photographers into a barely legal stalking profession. Marilyn Monroe had people photographing her, but they were going for shots that showed her classic beauty and style, not her cellulite, or panty-free moments. I miss the fantasy world of the stars, for now... I know too much about them. Not because I read tabloids, or seek out the information. I don't The overload of info is crammed into my ears each time the TV or radio is turned on. If not then, then water-cooler talks at work and grocery store check-out lines fill in the rest.
I'm not sure who's to blame for the dramatic shift in the portrayal of famous entertainers or why the current crop of the rich & famous would publicly provide so many reasons to scrutinize them. They are afterall, photographing what these people are doing of their own free will. Cocaine in the bathroom, indescretions with strangers, leaving the legs a bit to far apart at any time sans undies, taking softcore porno pictures and posting them on the internet themselves!!! It's just an overload. I'd like to see other information when I'm checking out at the grocery line as we are almost ALL subject to having to spend time in that line. Anything. Newspapers, books, flyers for local events and charities, anything but one more article about how shitty the stars look without makeup, or how they have as much cellulite as we do. We shouldn't need to see the worst in others to feel good about ourselves.
Pitches
Hollywood lost its glamour long ago.
Oh, don't get me wrong- there was plenty of scandel in the Hollywood of the 40's and 50's but even it had a certain glamour to it.
What happened to the well dressed, healthy women of that era? Big sunglassed, convertibles, glamour gowns, covertibles?
It has been reduced to Turner Movie Classics.

damn ummm bitchass, nice post!! why you all professional and shit ;) lol
I think it's the "negative" selling angle. I guess other "feel" better when even a "star" looks like shit once in a while. I am coming to the conclusion that's is all BULLSHIT from Hollwood to D.C. it's all a fucking act and (some of us) are the audience.
I don't think "we" are gonna stay in the audience much longer or anymore ;)
