The "N" Word!

I am interested to get peoples feedback on this subject. Is it ok for black people to use the "N" word when referring to each other? But, Jesse Jackson saying it?? I am extremely disappointed.

But, personally, i don't think the "N" word should be used by black people referring to black people. Of course, I am white, so, who cares what I think?

Do all black people use the "N" word or is it a class thing? I don't know. I hear it. It's in the movies.

What do other black people think of it?

Is it the same as a woman calling anoter woman "bitch" playfully as in "Hey, bitches- lets go party!"

I HATE when blacks use the n-word. To me, it shows a lack of self respect and smarts. Nigger means lazy, ignorant person, right? So, when I hear blacks call each other that, I think "hmm, well, I guess that's appropriate, one lazy, uneducated person identifying with another" I also think this is a class issue as I have noticed that blacks who are "educated" and cultured tend not to use this word.
