SUV's Get off the Freakin' Road

I lived in Houston, TX for 5 years and what absolutely drove me nuts was the amount of huge, gas guzzling SUV's in the city with only 1 person in it, the axxhole driver.

1. They drive their SUV's like it was a freakin' Porsche.

2. They cut off other smaller cars.

3. They can't park.

4. They cut off the view ahead from other drivers.

I wonder if people actually know what SUV's stand for?

Sport Utility Vehicle.

It was a term given to these hip van like cars because they got used on weekends when a group of people, like a family, went camping, fishing, snowboarding or whatever sport they got into.

Since a normal sized car was not big and comfortable enough to seat people along with their sport paraphenalia - the SUV was invented.

Now, people drive them as a status symbol. When in actuality, you look like axxholes to me. The lot of you. If you are driving an SUV, I better see more than 4 people in that machine of yours because if not, then you are so guilty of polluting the environment in a huge way.

Axxholes lol, never seen that before. Why can't they just build the damn things to run on water & recyle, or Sun, or our daily trash. OK, maybe not our trash for another 100 yrs but, I sure the hell hope they figure something out soon as our demand for gas/oil will continue to help pushing prices up and up and up...

Think about it. We can send people to the moon. Keep satellites orbiting around the earth for years .. and yet.. we can't find an alternative means for fuel? Come on .. some shit is going down and you all know what that is. If there were truly a mainstream alternative means for fuel what will happen to governments and companies that are all in cohoots with this oil and gas scenario. It is a pity.

There ARE alternative means for fuel. There always has been. Companies and governments just did not want to spend the money. Now .. now that companies and governments have probably worked out some way how to gain a profit - only now are governments endorsing alternative means for fuel.

Which opens up a whole other issue.

With land becoming scarce to grow food.. and a percentage of this land will be used to grow alternative means for fuel .. people are starving. Food prices are increasing. So you tell me, that it is still okay to take land away from food growth just to harvest plants that will be used to feed cars and machines??!!!

Society is concerned about what to FEED their cars and machines when millions of people in the world do not even have access to clean water? What a shame. I wish I were dead now.

I agree- too many people do drive SUV's as a status symbol. Escalades, Navigators....why does one need a SUV that big and fancy?

I bought my Santa Fe for work purposes.( It's small, a 6 cylender, and pretty easy n the wallet to gas up.) I was in property management and needed the space to carry "Open House" and "For Rent" signs along with banners, tools, key boxes, and luggage as I would spend every other weekend in San Antonio where my properties were. I no longer have that job but the Santa Fe comes in handy for road trips to the race tracks as we carry a lot of supplies and I have been known to take it to the beach and use it off road. I didn't want a truck as I have a child and felt safer in a small SUV.

I do apologize for driving it like a Porshe. ;) I am used to a smaller car. I do not cut people off in traffic though!

Aww, you are so cute. I love your honesty. Okay, you have a good enough reason for me to be driving a Santa Fe. :o)

Just go easy on the "driving like a porsche" thing ... there might be a driver near you whose reflexes are not as good and will get taken aback .. :o)
