Since when did Healthcare become a Business?
Okay, I'm not stupid. I understand that to run a hospital, clinic whatever .. costs oodles of money therefor some kind of re-imbursement needs to take place.
But .. when hospitals market their services as equal to a Ritz Carlton Hotel?? WTF?!!
I'm not kidding. It's now all about competition. How to lure in the most clients .. which happen to be sick people in need to health care.
They put nurses and hospital staff on expensive orientation workshops aimed at Customer Service jargon. Holy shit this is so funny.
They make it like the patients are shopping for healthcare (which they are. That is what it has boiled down to.)
When you are sick and in need of care, you want the best of care and you place your trust on those people that are knowledgeable. But .. are people aware that they are being royally screwed? I should know .. I was part of that system .
It was so difficult as a nurse to be able to give your patient the care they needed because you were also placed as a spokesperson of the hospital. Instead of taking active care of your patients you also were expected to guide people to the parking lot, gift shop, get them a soda, etc ..
Hellloooo, I have a cancer patient that needed her pain medication, so please don't get mad at me because it took me 20 minutes to get your Dad's coke (which by the way, is poisoning him). Yup, that's how it was.
Healthcare should never BE a business. It is a fundamental right as a citizen of a society rich in technology.
Maybe if governments did not spend trillions of dollars on war and killing other people in other countries .. maybe some of that money could go to healthcare. What do you think?
But no way. Not going to happen in my lifetime. Why? Because everything around us is programmed to make humanity sick. Our food, our machines, our lifestyles. We have been brainwashed to believe that we NEED certain things. We have been brainwashed to depend on certain things. The food we eat has made us build an addiction to them - food that is meant to cause dis-ease in our bodies as we get older!
The medicines that people take NEVER address the ROOT problem. They only pacify the symptom(s). Result? People have to take medication for many years just to alleviate symptoms. $$$$Cha-CHING$$$
Their bodies get immuned to a drug hence they have to take a stronger form. This perpetuates the pharmaceutical companies crime in legally allowing them to KILL US slowly. Yup! You heard it here. Go ahead and quote me. I am not afraid.
Oh and by the way, thanks to technology, we can now live longer .. but are much more sicker. And the cycle continues. $$Cha-Ching$$
Who ever brainstormed this cycle is brilliant. Make the people sick with food, and drugs, use technology to keep them living longer so that they can continue to need medication.. then create an awesome business out of healthcare. WOW.
I am probably not being clear on this because I am typing as fast as my fingers can go. But I kid you not. I don't mean to put people down who work for pharmaceutical companies. It is not your fault. It stems from a much hierarchical place.
You all need to earn a living, yes I know. Just please be aware of what impact your jobs have on humanity. That's the thing.
People.. if you are on medication, talk to me. I know how to get you off it - depending on what you are taking it for. I am not kidding.
Hint* it's in what you eat. All organic and natural. Our beautiful earth supplies us with everything we need to sustain our existence. We don't need medication. Drink lots of water, get plenty of sleep. Never hold in negative emotions .. and for goodness sakes de-TOX!!!
Pitches
Carmen, I totally feel you on this. It's interesting you say that *Healthcare* is our right. I feel that *education* is also our right and quite frankly a necessary *investment* if you will for our Nation.
As a taxpayer, I am currently grappling with the notions of what is *fair & equitable distribution* of income in the form of taxes etc. I have always had trouble with this, I work very hard and maybe my neighbor doesn't....why is it our responsibility to pay his bills?
Don't get me wrong, I will give the shirt off of my back to those in need but, the *other* lazy people must produce their share.
Obviously, this issue cannot be solved easily or maybe ever...what do you think?
ps gees..Are you sayin I need to lay of the coffee? no...please no! "+}

Re: the coffee ... put it this way ..."one thing at a time, small baby steps".
Look, if this bitch could cut off her beloved Venti Caramel Macchiato Upside down (and I worked 12 hr nights) to only drinking water and the occassional ODWALLA - then anyone can do it.
It's easier to quit the java after a good de-tox. You get your body back to square one, then, when you fold and have a coffee, you go YUCK! Mind you the smell is great. Things like coffee is another thing that makes us feel we NEED it. No one needs coffee. I thought I did but after, all I needed was H2O to hydrate my cells, increase the efficiency of their processes by providing them the fluid vehicle to do their job and BAM! My energy level was taken up a notch. This is just a suggestion :o)
Now, *education*. That's my next bitch session. I completely agree with you! Education is the greatest investment. It is also not just a right but it also represents Freedom.
Re: allotment of taxes. I hear you. There are those that work their butts off and pay taxes that go to providing services to those that don't work as much or those that don't at all.
That issue is a bomb of an issue because there are so many individual cases where, when you investigate further, you realize that your taxes really benefit those in need. However, there are those groups in society that are truly lazy and for some reason know how to scam the system.
First of all, I think it's great that their is social assistance for those that really need it but if you think about it, often too much social assistance breeds dependency.
Gosh, this is such a huge monster to dissect because it is all built in the infrastructure - in order to really make a change, one variable can't be dealt with - they ALL must be dealt with.
1. Why are there people that are dependent on social assistance?
do they need education?
can they obtain an education?
what are the factors preventing them from getting a job or an education?
are they single moms that can't afford daycare?
2. Workman's Comp.
A number of workman's comp issues are due to the company's lack of OSHA or other compliants. They didn't want to dish out the money to improve their work environment, or hire the required number of employees needed to get a task done safely - so... someone gets an accident and they remain on Workers Compensation.
Here, we see it as the neglect of the company.
Why did the company neglect to comply with saftey codes etc?
Whose responsibility was it to make that decision not to comply?
Was that person or group of people aware of the possible long term risks? Do they need to be educated about what WC entails and how it affects society/economy as a whole?
Who are teaching these leaders and bosses?
What courses are being included in these Business Admin, MBA programs? Are there humanity/compassion courses?
Government spending. I think that needs to be addressed first.
If the government can just allocate some billions of dollars to more pressing and basic needs like education/healthcare/housing instead of the billions of dollars towards Defense and weapons and even NASA initiatives ... there you go.
Okay, maybe it's a good idea to try to find habitable planets ... since we're pretty much KILLING this one ... but, can't they just try to fix the problems of this world instead of finding another planet to destroy????
I swear, sometimes I think that the species of man is the one that is ruining it for all of existence.
We are the only species that does not follow the rules of nature and the universe. Thanks to our ego's.
I view the planet as one living organism (so to speak) and all species, matter whatever as components that are all INTERDEPENDENT of one another. Then I see man as a dis-ease.
Man, do I need a coffee now! :oP
