Sometimes it feels like a sick Fu*king Game!
Do you ever feel like you were once a better person? A little more pure, a little more caring, a little more *you*. Now, for the record, I do believe in God and am actually a very spiritual person but, something about this really makes me think.
Why do things seem to be set in opposition by our creator? Why do we have these feelings and urges and wants and impulses that we feel like we must always suppress? Or, are we just a product of design initiated by our ancestors who wanted to instill controls and boundries. Of course, we need to exercise self control, or do we? Can we just be good to each other and do our best?
Pitches
I really liked this contribution. It makes you think. I also like "Dear God" by XTC.
I don't know who God is or if s/he even exists but I've been through far too much to think there is not some higher power amused by my presence. I am still here, better than before, stronger than ever so don't tell me there is no God. Hey, maybe I am god. Stranger things have happened.

Very thought provoking post!
I am a spiritual person. I believe in a "Higher Power." I am not Wiccan nor do I say that I am Christian.
1."Can we just be good to each other and do our best?"
I would like to think so! Things are pretty clear cut in the Ten Comandements. Well, I say that but looking them over, some aren't so clear cut as there are so many versions of them. ( The Jewish Commandents total in the hundreds.)

However-we do have
Though shall not kill, steal, commit adultry, or bear false witness against your neighbor. In the new testament you also have "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
2."Why do things seem to be set in opposition by our creator?"
My answer? Well, you answered it.Because we are a product of design initiated by our ancestors who wanted to instill controls and boundries.
It's all about control.Money.Power.
Lutherans, Catholics, Baptists, Pentacostals- everyone has their own set of "rules. Women can not cut there hair or wear make-up. These guys say that you can not dance. These people over here tell you to go sit in a box and confess your sins to a man who will tell you to go home and pray with beads. That dude says that you can not drink. The people over there bang on drums every full moon. That man has 10 wives.
Whats a gal with a Lutheran, Pentacostal, Baptist, Jewish, Pagan background to do????? Do not kill, steal, commit adultry, or bear false witness against my neighbor.

I've given this a lot of thought. Really I have. I was baptized a Roman Catholic and somewhere down the road I felt mislead.
I read up on various other religions and have come to realize that I hate the word 'Religion'.
To me, it's all just a huge hoax to control groups of people based on fear. In order to have power, you need fear. They go hand in hand. If you can instill fear in groups of people then you can pretty much get them to do what you want them to do.
I don't believe in religion. I don't believe in the word "God". It's just a word to me. Like the word f*ck or b*tch.
I am very spiritual however, whatever that even means.
I've realized that all people want the same things. We are all the same. Our differences lie in the factors that have designed our thwarted minds.
We really ARE ALL THE same.
I've been a nurse for 11 years and trust me when I saw this - we are ALL THE SAME.
Our skin color may be different. We may be programmed to believe in different things, like different foods, look very different from one another but these things I know:
1. We ALL Bleed RED.
2. All our SHIT stinks.
3. We have that gunk in our eyes when we wake up.
4. We're afraid of pain even if we say we are not.
5. We want to be happy.
6. We love the feeling of a light wind on our face and the warmth of the sun on our skin.
7. We need people.
8. We Love.
9. We cry, even if we don't.
10. We're all HUMAN even if some of us seem like monsters.
I have my own opinions of how the world is. Based on experience, reading, observing and intuition.
What are they?
Here they are:
I think the whole world is being misled by a HIGHER Power - and I'm not talking about a Cosmic Force.
I think that most of what is happening in the world is part of a huge hidden agenda and we're all in the dark. We need to wake up and STOP letting institutions run our lives!
I have come to believe that Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, and who ever else - are just story figures based on perhaps real people. But that is all what they are. People or representations of people.
I think that we need to stop trying to make sense of things that at just THERE. This makes things more complicated.
Can't we just accept life and nature for what it is?
A miracle of love.
There is no real GOD. The only power that truly exists, I am feeling, is some power that we seem to call "love" . On a higher level it is far more than that but we are not there yet to know that.
We focus on living too much in the physical world when all this is, is a figment of what we desperately want it to be.
We really have no needs. We just create it.
We are dis-eased. The energies of our bodies are not at ease with nature.
Why aren't we looking to nature as a teaching tool?
Nature is perect in all its systems. It's symbiotic. It's balanced. Oh sorry, was balanced, until our species polluted that which sustains us.
We need to really let go of our ties to EGO. Ego's are what keeps us in the dark.
If you really think about it. If there really was this GOD that people say exists - then he's really a pretty f*cked up b*stard.
So I say this to you? Can there really be a God, that which so many people have been lead to believe in?
There definitely is a SOURCE of ENERGY POWER. It's all around us. It is even in our cells and it makes us function. The Energy is everywhere.
This is what I have come to believe. This is no GOD. That is just a label that mankind has put a physical face to.
But there are the Laws of the Nature and that of the Universe. There are even some laws that we have not yet experienced.
Thank you for this post. It's given me the opportunity to share what I just shared.

Whoa. I can't say much more than that. This is so spot on to what I believe that all I can say is, "Thank you for saying it for me." I could have never written this so well and orderly.
