What is a 'betty'?
A 'betty' cares about what is going on around them. A 'betty' is not afraid to speak out when things aren't right. A 'betty' will kick *ss and take action to make things better. Simply put, a 'betty' gives a damn!
Why 'bitching'?
“Bitching” is not politically correct. It doesn’t need to be polished or eloquent. Bitching comes from the soul; it’s passionate, emotional and authentic.
bitch is a verb. And that implies action. You’re welcome to bitch just to bitch, of course. But the loudest, fiercest bitches come from the soul and inspire others to move.What do you want to change? How are you going to get there? How can your community help?
Is bitching therapeutic?
The life coaches at Life Coaches blog say so:
"Yes! If therapy is defined, as a process that makes a person feel better, then bitching is therapeutic if you feel good after that. So something happens to you, you bitch about it, you let it off your chest and everything is well and good again?"
To me, bitching is synonymous with making oneself seen, heard and felt. The emotions get an outlet. It's just a part of a therapeutic process. In therapy, there must be a resolution. In coaching, we take it a little further by demanding initiative.”
The key is, after you get it off your chest, move forward and make changes. Take initiative and make the first steps. The betty community is here to help.
What good will it do to just whine about my problems?
bitchy betty allows 'bitching' to evolve into something meaningful and positive by allowing other betties to 'pitch' their ideas to solve a problem / resolve an issue / help someone cope. bitchy betty is not going to save the world but, we will help to improve the lives of many people by LISTENING, CARING, and ACTING .
